Marcin Gol

Full-stack engineer · Lublin, Poland

I build product-facing web applications end to end — React and Next.js on the front, NestJS, GraphQL and Prisma behind them, on infrastructure I run myself. I work best alongside other people, and I leave codebases easier than I found them.

How I work

Team, tests, handover
  • Working in a team

Most of what I have shipped was shipped with other people. I plan in the open, keep pull requests small enough to review properly, and treat a disagreement in review as cheaper than a disagreement in production.

  • Leading where it helps

I take the lead when a piece of work needs someone to hold the shape of it — breaking it down, unblocking people, making the call when a decision is stuck — without needing the title to do it.

  • Testing what matters

I write tests where the cost of being wrong is real — the hot paths, the edge cases someone will hit at 2am, the regressions that already bit us once. Tests are a design tool as much as a safety net: code that is painful to test is usually telling you something.

  • Leaving things easier

I write down the decisions that are load-bearing and the ones that are easy to break, so the next person does not have to rediscover them. Reviews and pairing are where most of that gets passed on.
